Strasburg Scooter Tours has two fantastic options: the 1.5- to 2-hour Covered Bridge Tour or the 2.5- to 3-hour Country Roads Excursion. Both offer stunning fall scenery and a fun way to explore the area.
Whether youโre riding solo or sharing a two-person scooter, all you need is a driverโs license to hit the road.
Even the kids can get in on the fun! Kids as young as 4 can ride on the double-seater 3-wheel scooter, while those 7 and older can hop on the back of the two-person version.

Train Attractions in Strasburg

The Choo Choo Barn in Lancaster is more than just a model train exhibit; it is a loving piece of art.
After your scooter tour, keep the family fun going with a stop at the Choo Choo Barn.
This massive 1,700 sq. ft. model train exhibit features 22 operating trains and over 150 hand-built figures that recreate scenes from Lancaster County.
Itโs a one-of-a-kind way to capture your kidsโ attention, and who knowsโthey may leave with a new obsession with trains!
At $12 for adults and $8 for kids, itโs also easy on the budget while on vacation.

Strasburg Rail Road is one of the top attractions in Lancaster, offering an authentic steam train experience.
Next, hop over to the Strasburg Rail Road for a 45-minute ride on a vintage steam train. The scenic ride will take you past Cherry Crest Adventure Farmโalthough itโs closed after early November, youโll definitely want to come back in the spring when it reopens for even more family fun.
Choose from First Class, the Dining Car, or Coach seating. We opted for the Dining Car, which made for a unique lunch experience, though the menu was a little limited. In hindsight, First Classโwith snacks and drinksโmight have been a better fit for us.
And if youโre visiting between mid-November and Christmas, book one of the festive Santa rides at Strasburg Rail Road. Itโs a magical experience thatโll leave your family with lasting memories as you enjoy the scenic ride through Lancasterโs holiday wonderland.
Day 2 Evening:
Dinner on a Train

With its train-themed decor and kid-friendly menu, Casey Jones’ is a hit with families. Itโs the perfect way to end the day on a high note with a unique and unforgettable dining experience in the Lancaster area.

Itโs open every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 am to 3 pm, making it the ideal stop for a fresh breakfast or some tasty snacks for later.
Youโll find a wide variety of local produce, baked goods, fresh fruits, and handcrafted treasuresโa great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and take home something special.

Afterward, if you have some extra time to fill, visit the nearby North Museum of Nature and Science.

After your morning adventure, make your way to Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park for an afternoon packed with family fun! With over 35 rides and attractions, this park has something for everyone.
In October, Dutch Wonderland transforms for Happy Hauntings, complete with Halloween decorations and kid-friendly activities. By November, it becomes Dutch Winter Wonderland, filled with festive lights and seasonal magic.
The park is open on weekends from 12 to 8 p.m. in October and 3 to 8 p.m. in November. To make the most of your visit, be sure to arrive early and enjoy all the activities!
